Dance floor tilted at 34° – video teaser for world premiere Skid became instant viral hit


efy gravity or dare to fall? On 7 November, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani will present the world premiere of Skid, created by critically-acclaimed choreographer Damien Jalet. A humble rehearsal film clip has been shared over 3 600 times and seen by over 700,000 people on Facebook – which suggests that Skid will be something extraordinary.

Swedish Premiere for Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame – THE MUSICAL


Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame – THE MUSICAL tells a dark story of moral courage and oppression, love and hate. The grand production has audience seats on stage, and the digital set design gives the feeling of being inside the burning cathedral in Paris. The Swedish premiere is scheduled for September of 2018 at the Göteborg Opera.

Ronnie Hallgren leaves his position as CEO at the Göteborg Opera


At his own request, Ronnie Hallgren, CEO for Göteborg Opera AB since August 2014, has decided to end his assignment.

“To have been part of the management of one the leading opera houses in Northern Europe has been a true gift. The staff is distinguished by an immense knowledge and awareness of quality, as well as dedication and innovation. My three years as CEO of the Göteborg Opera have been intense and fast-paced. I’m very proud of what we have accomplished together.”

The roles for ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ have been announced


The Phantom of the Opera will be the musical for season 2017/2018 at the Göteborg Opera. Since its first performance in London in 1986, Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical has been seen by over 140 million people in 30 countries.
