New faces at the Göteborg Opera 2013-2014
This season's new employees at the Göteborg Opera were introduced today. They include Stephen Langridge, Artistic Director Opera/Drama and seven new dancers in the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani.
Today was the first official day at work for Stephen Langridge, the new Artistic Director Opera/Drama at the Göteborg Opera (read more below). He is now taking over after Lise-Lotte Axelsson who ended her appointment last spring after eight seasons. The approaching opera/drama season was planned by Lise-Lotte Axelsson but Stephen has some exciting new items that he will be introducing very soon.
During the past season, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani has met with great success, internationally and at home. Ahead of the coming season, seven new dancers from five different countries are starting here. A new Rehearsals Manager has also been taken on for the company (read more below). The dance programme, given the theme of Mind & Spirit, was planned by Adolphe Binder, Artistic Director - Dance, and it is now opening the second season that she has planned at the Göteborg Opera.
