Sergej Bolkhovets is an ascending young conductor with an already extensive international career as a violinist playing as a guest a.o. with Berliner Philharmoniker.
Apart from his work with Cabaret, he was assisting conductor for La Bohème, autumn 2020, at The Göteborg Opera.
He was awarded the position as Junior Fellow in Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music from 2016 to 2018, as well as the Leverhulme Conducting Fellowship at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2019-20.In the 2020-21 season Sergej Bolkhovets acts as Assistant Conductor at the GöteborgOpera, returns to Dalasinfoniettan for a symphonic concertand debuts with the Bamberger Symphoniker. Highlights from recent seasons include his debuts with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, where he also actedas Assistant Conductor, The Hallé Orchestra, Manchester Camerata and BBC Philharmonic, as well as with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich during a masterclass with David Zinmanand the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra as part of a conducting workshop. He has also worked repeatedly a.o. with the Norrköping and Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Norrlandsoperan, and has collaborated with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Opera and Red Note Ensemble. He also acted as Assistant Conductor a.o. at the Daegu International Music Festival 2018 in Koreaand at the State Opera of Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
In addition to the above-mentioned Fellowships, Mr. Bolkhovets studied conducting at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Prof. B. Tommy Andersson and at Franz Liszt Music Academy with Markus Frank. In his career as a violinist, Sergej Bolkhovets studied at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Prof. Ulf Wallin and Prof. Tabea Zimmermann, as well as at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Joakim Svenheden.
