Sami Yousri studied at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg. He has sung Sarastro in the Magic Flute accompanied by the Jönköping Sinfonietta, Baron Douphol in La Traviata at the Folk Opera and Clemens VI in Carl Unander-Scharin’s Byrgitta at the Vadstena Academy. Further roles include Corbolone in The Secret Marriage at the Fäviken Opera Festival and Adler Salvius in Magnus Gabriel by Daniel Börtz at the Läckö Castle Opera.
At the Göteborg Opera, Sami Yousri has sung the roles of the Mother in The Seven Deadly Sins by Weill/Brecht, Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Pasha Selim in The Abduction from Seraglio (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Doctor Gate in the Sleep Clinic by Carl Unander-Scharin, the Programme Salesman and Soloist Carlo in LasseMaja’s Detective Agency and in 2010, the Night Watchman in the Master Singers of Nuremberg. That same year, Sami Yousri also sang Colline in La Bohème at the Opera på Skäret.
