Olafur Sigurdarson

Icelandic baritone Olafur Sigurdarson has appeared in opera houses throughout Europe, in Australia, Japan and Mexico in roles such as Rigoletto, Falstaff, Simon Boccanegra, Iago, Scarpia, Flying Dutchman, Telramund and Alberich, to name but a few.

He made his US debut in the title role of Falstaff at Opera Omaha followed immediately by Rigoletto at Minnesota Opera and then further performances in the title role of Falstaff at Opera Colorado.

At the Finnish National Opera he has sung several roles, such as the title role of The Flying Dutchman, a role in which he was ecstatically reviewed in his debut in 2014 and for which he received the rarely bestowed honorary membership of the Richard Wagner Association in Saarland (RWV).

Olafur Sigurdarson has been awarded both the Icelandic Music Awards and the Icelandic Theater Awards for his portrayal of Rigoletto and Scarpia.
