Lars Bethke is one of Sweden’s most versatile artists who, in his capacity as a Dancer, Choreographer, Actor and Director, has consciously, for the past 30 years, endeavoured to embrace different types of work. Following his education and training in Wisconsin, New York, Los Angeles and Stockholm, Lars has worked all over the world on stages such as the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Schiller Theater in Berlin, the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, the West End in London and Broadway in New York. In Sweden, Lars has appeared in productions at the Royal Dramatic Theatre, the Royal Swedish Opera, the Göteborg Opera, China Teatern, the Park Theatre, Riksteatern, Cirkus Cirkör and the Stockholm City Theatre. Lars has also been seen in TV productions such as Tre Kronor (Three Crowns), White Lies, Playa Del Sol, Andra Avenyn (Second Avenue), Skeppsholmen, Irene Huss as well as in the film Watch Out for the Fools.
Lars has conceptualised, written and directed a series of original works performed on various stages around Sweden and Europe, most recently the show Twenty 19 at the Stockholm City Theatre.
In 2017, Lars debuted as Opera Director at Läckö Castle with the production The Turk in Italy.
