After ten years as a freelance designer for, among others, the Dutch National Ballet, the Netherlands Dans Theater (NDT) and the Dutch Opera Foundation, Joke Visser joined the NDT permanently in 1987 and two years later, became Head of the Costume Department. Joke has since designed and produced nearly all of the costumes used in Jiří Kylián’s dance works. Joke Visser is currently travelling the world whilst working as a design supervisor on the dance sets of Kylián. She also works together with choreographers such as Paul Lightfoot and Sol Léon.
