Ingela Brimberg studied at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Göteborg. She sang her first Brünnhilde in Theater an der Wien’s Ring Cycle in 2017, and has since sung the role at Teatro Real Madrid and with Trondheim Symhony Orchestra. She has sung Senta in Der fliegende Holländer, Elsa in Lohengrin and Elektra and Salomé in several major European houses such as La Monnaie, Theater an der Wien, Oper Köln, Staatsoper Hamburg, Opéra National de Bordeaux and Staatstheater Kassel and Deutsche Oper Berlin. Other roles include Salome at the Teatro Verdi, Göteborg Opera, Oper Köln; title role Tosca for Oper Köln, Göteborg Opera and Finnish National Opera; title role Aida for Malmö Opera; Elettra in Idomeneo for Opéra de Lyon and Göteborg Opera, and Chrysothemis in Elektra at the Verbier Festival. Other engagements include Eva in Höstsonaten for Finnish National Opera and Valentine in Les Huguenots and Ellen Orford in Peter Grimes at Royal Swedish Opera.
Having sung mezzo roles like Rosina and Cherubino, Brimberg made her soprano debut singing Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail with Folkoperan 2003. She has also performed Amelia in Un ballo in Maschera, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (Folkoperan), the title roles of Jenufa (NorrlandsOperan), Katja Kabanova (the Göteborg Opera), Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (Toulon Opera), title role Manon Lescaut (the Danish National Opera), and Sieglinde in concerts of Die Walküre with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
