Erika Sax received a significant part of her training at the Conservatory of Music in Trondheim and the Stockholm University College of Opera.
She has performed on stages such as The Göteborg Opera, Wermland Opera, Folkoperan, Norrlandsoperan, Läckö Castle Opera, Vasateatern and Berwaldhallen. The roles she has performed include the title role in Cinderella, Clarice in La Pietra del Paragone, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Mother in Mavra, Gertrude in Romeo and Juliet, Mary in The Flying Dutchman and Pauline in The Queen of Spades.
At The Göteborg Opera she has sung the parts of Pauline in The Queen of Spades, Maddalena in Rigoletto, Amman in Boris Godunov, Rudolf Nurejev in Die Fledermaus and the double role of Liselott/Maria-Lucia in Carl Unander-Scharin’s opera, Sömnkliniken, Myrtale in Thaïs, Zulma in L’italiana in Algeri, Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor, Larina in Eugen Onegin, Herodia’s Page in Salome and Sonjetka in Lady Macbeth of Mzensk, and the Third Nymph in Rusalka. She has also performed as a soloist at numerous concerts at the Göteborg Opera.
In autumn 2009 she had her debut at The Swedish Royal Opera as Pauline in The Queen of Spades and then on the same stage as Annina in Der Rosenkavalier during season 15/16.
As a concert singer Erika Sax has performed with the Helsinborg Symphony Orchestra, the Uppsala Chamber Orchestra, the Dala Chamber Orchestra, the Gävle Symphony Orchestra, the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble and others.
