Constanza Macras was born in Buenos Aires, where she studied dance and fashion design. She continued her dance studies in Amsterdam and New York. In 1995, Macras moved to Berlin. In 1997, she founded her own first company TAMAGOTCHI Y2K. In 2003, Constanza Macras | DorkyPark was created by Macras and dramaturg Carmen Mehnert, creating to date over twenty productions that toured widely to Europe, Asia, Africa and Americas. Macras also created commissioned works for venues worldwide like Argentina, Brazil, UK, South Africa and China, and taught workshops and master classes in several international institutions.
In 2008 Macras received the Goethe-Institut Award for her piece Hell On Earth. In 2010 she was awarded with the Arts at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) William L. Abramowitz Residency. In the same year Macras was awarded the prize DER FAUST for best choreography for the piece Megalopolis. In 2013 she was invited to direct the prestigious international theatre master class L'Ecole des Maîtres.
