Bernard Matracki attended Frederick Chopin Music Lyceum and Frederick Chopin College of Music in Warsaw and worked in practically all areas within the music business in Poland - everything from classical to jazz - and was musical director for several large musical productions and a frequent guest in several radio and TV shows. He has also worked as a band leader on large cruise ships and as a musician at theatres in New York.
Since he came to Sweden in 1987 he has worked at Balettakademien, Danshuset, Dansforum, Stora teaterns balettskola, Svenska balettskolan, Teater- and Operahögskolan in Gothenburg and in 1994 he started working for the Göteborg Opera as a pianist for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani and as a musical rehearser for musical productions.
Since 1988 Bernard has been active as musical director and concert master for several productions, such as The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Midsommarnatten i Midgårdsskogen, The Little Night Music, The Company, Herrklubben, The Boyfriend, The Wizz, Skriv vackert om kärlek, Kontaktannonser, Sweeney Todd, Ha ett underbart liv, Into the woods, Hon och Jag and The Little Shop of Horrors. He has also worked as repetiteur, rehearser and musician for The Nutcracker, Chicago, West Side Story, Les Miserables and Evita.
