On the programme: arias and duets from Madama Butterfly, Le nozze di Figaro, Pagliacci and Cavalleria Rusticana; all of which will be staged in the coming season. Presenter is Göran Gademan, dramaturge.

GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, with 38 dancers from 20 different countries, is one of the most acclaimed in Europe, and the biggest contemporary dance company in the Nordic Region. Dancers Danielle de Vries, Amanda Åkesson, Frida Dam Seidel and Michael Munoz present the coming dance season.
The Café opens at 11.30am.

During the Cultural Festival, our soloists, chorus and orchestra take the stage for 2 performances of delightful previews from the coming season. Then GöteborgsOperans Danskompani will kick off their season with a performance of Sharon Eyal's Untitled Black.

Puccini‘s heart-wrenchingly beautiful tragedy, directed by Yoshi Oïda, about damaging relationships, both individual and international.

Opera by Richard Wagner, prologue to his epic cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen. Stephen Langridge directs this, Gothenburg’s first ever Ring Cycle.
Cavalleria Rusticana & Pagliacci

Bloody revenge in Sicily. Since the early 20th century these one-act operas have been constantly performed together as a double-bill, becoming known as “Cav/Pag” for convenience. This successful production is directed by Damiano Michieletto.

The spring season will be rounded off with a Dance Festival which will include Roy Assaf’s Sacre, Jo Strømgren’s The Ministry of Unresolved Emotions with GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, a guest performance of Grand finale with the Hofesh Shechter Company, a concert with Ólafur Arnalds, workshops, seminars and discussions.

The joy of song
We’ll be celebrating the joy of singing (and the pleasure of listening) with a cheerful, emotional concert with the Göteborg Opera Children and Youth Choruses. 2019 is also the tenth anniversary of the Göteborg Opera Children’s Chorus, so what better way to celebrate than a show of songs for children and young people.
