Want to join a new Inter|national Choir with the Göteborg Opera and the Red Cross?
In January 2018 the Göteborg Opera and the Red Cross will form a new International Choir. The project will be led by two professional artists: Bo Wannefors (conductor) and Tina Glenvik (director).
The project will be led by two professional artists, Bo Wannefors (choir conductor) and Tina Glenvik (director) and we will perform a concert at the Göteborg Opera in February as a part of the project River of Light.
Who can join the international choir?
The choir is for people who enjoy singing with other people or want to try it. You don’t need any previous experience! It is important that you can attend all rehearsals and the concert. When we choose participants for the choir we will aim for a mix of people with different ages, languages, nationalities and backgrounds.
What will we sing?
We will sing folk songs from people who live in Gothenburg but who come from all over the world. It will be an exciting mix of musical styles and languages. We have previously sung in Arabic, Assyrian, English, Kurdish, Macedonian, Persian, Polish, Spanish and Swedish!
Where will we rehearse?
At the Göteborg Opera house, on Christina Nilssons gata, 411 04 (near the Nordstan shopping centre) Link to map
You are welcome whichever language you speak! We’ll work in Swedish and English, but we’ll be glad to help with other languages as much as possible.
When are the rehearsals?
- Thursdays, 11, 18, 25 Jan, 1, 8, 15 Feb; 7.15–9.00pm.
- Sunday 18 Feb, 1.00–4.30pm.
- Tuesday 20 Feb, 5.00–9.00pm (Rehearsal and concert as a part of River of Light)
How do I join?
Send an email to email@example.com by 18 December at the latest. Send in your email today! After we receive your mail we will ask a few simple questions, because we want to form a choir that reflects the people living in Göteborg today.
