Twelfth Night Concert and Ball

A glittering dedication to Bernstein's Broadway.

Experience an unforgettable Twelfth Night, filled to the brim with fantastic music and delicious food and drink. It will be a magical winter evening featuring a tailor-made concert as tribute to the 100-year anniversary of composer Leonard Bernstein’s birth. Bernstein is most widely known for his musical West Side Story, but is also one of few to have successfully straddled both the worlds of Broadway and classical music.

After the concert, the Main Stage will be transformed into a ballroom floor, where the Göteborg Opera’s Viennese Orchestra will strike up some dance music, and later in the evening pass the baton to the Stardust Big Swing Band, featuring guest artists. As the dancers sweep past you'll see tail-coats, tuxedos, full-length ballgowns, black dresses and kilts. Wear what makes you feel fabulous!

Top off the event with something delicious from the Göteborg Opera’s specially designed menus, either before or after the concert. The restaurant, Opera Bar and cafés each have their own menu. Most of the dinner options must be pre-booked and we recommend that you arrange this well in advance.

In connection with the Twelfth Night Concert and Ball we also offer dance classes, where you can learn the basics (or brush up on your skills) of the waltz and others.
