The Blue Planet in Concert
The award-winning BBC documentary series, with music by George Fenton. The Göteborg Opera will be transformed into a movie theatre – an experience for the whole family! Narrated in Swedish.
The oceans cover nearly three quarters of the globe – more than half the Earth’s surface lies submerged beneath waters deeper than 3,000 metres – yet less than 1 per cent of this terrain has been explored. The Blue Planet is the first-ever BBC- Attenborough series about this vast, mysterious world.
More is known about the surface of the moon than the deep oceans on Earth, yet the sea constitutes two thirds of our planet. The award-winning BBC documentary series peers into this watery world, with spectacular footage exploring shores and shallows teeming with life and uncovering unseen depths. The Blue Planet is the definitive exploration of the marine world.
The music is written by multiple Oscar-nominee composer George Fenton. We are delighted to announce that he will conduct The Goteborg Opera Orchestra live on this unforgettable journey.
Our guide and narrator down into the depths is musical artist Lars Hjertner, who you can also see in this season’s feel-good musical Crazy for You. Please note, the narration will be in Swedish.
