Stop the World - I Want to Get Off

Stop the World - I Want to Get Off

Musical by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley.

Stop the World! - I want to get off, exclaims the clown Littlechap, who rushes through the circus of life in a mad dash for money, love and success. The classic story of the man who conquers the world but loses himself is told through song, dance, drama and artistry. A lot has happened since it first opened in London 1961, but the story of the little man with the enormous ego is still a current issue. This version by Rikard Bergqvist is a boundless, shameless, drastically and humourously entertaining production about our time, a show musical in a circus environment, intended to bring out tears and laughter from the audience.

Stop the World is one of the modern musical classics. It is an action packed, funny and tender story about the choices we make and the opportunities we get during our lifetime. It is about the responsibility we have for our own lives, and how it sometimes feels like your world is spinning out of control and you just want to get off. This is a new and modern version, updated and adapted to the realities of today.
