Summer Nights
The Göteborg Opera Orchestra on tour with Nordic romance
The warm, late summer nights get some added sparkle with hot and cool romantic music perfromed by the Göteborg Opera Orchestra.
The varied program includes Nordic favourites such as Hugo Alfvén’s Midsommarvaka and Vallflickans dans, Jean Sibelius’ Swan of Tuonela and Robert Schumann’s highly romantic Concertpiece for Four Horns and Orchestra, Op. 86. The concert will also feature three lively pieces by Hans Christian Lumbye, Johan Svendsen’s Norwegian Rhapsody No. 2 and the overture to Carl Nielsen’s Maskarade.
All in all, an evening with equal parts mirth, melancholy and beauty – just like our Nordic summer nights.
