The Göteborg Opera’s ‘Skapa’ Days are an excellent opportunity for inquisitive minds to find out more about music, singing, opera and dance. This is your chance to participate and experience for yourself, to inspire and be inspired. The Skapa days are run twice each season and include something for all ages.

Concert with the Göteborg Opera’s Children’s Chorus and Youth Choruses.
“Join in!” – Welcome to an engaging concert with the Göteborg Opera’s Children’s Chorus and two Youth Choruses. The chorus members are between the ages of 9 and 22; all of them have been given the opportunity to contribute with suggestions on which songs and texts will be integrated in the concert. The result: a wonderful musical experience for all ages!

Recreate: Die Walküre – Who is a hero?
This season, Wagner’s opera “Die Walküre” has been performed on the Main Stage. Based on the plot of that opera, a group of young people have created a new work together with artists from the Göteborg Opera. The work has been performed several times during the year. During the Skapa days, a “deluxe version” will be presented, where the young people also get to work with dance and sound technology together with staff from the Göteborg Opera.

Rachel and the Oracle

An ingenious tale for children from 6 to 8 years old.
Having a best friend is the best thing in the world. But friends sometimes fall out. How can they be fixed? Rachel can’t figure it out, so she decides to seek advice from the one who always knows: the Oracle. The road is winding and the journey is long. How will it turn out? And what answers will the Oracle provide?
Rachel and the Oracle is a new mini-musical which combines clever humour with great seriousness. The magic of the performing arts takes children on an invigorating and imaginative journey.

Olivia – a queer club show
Join a real turboshow – as a participant or spectator! Turboshow is a performance which is created and premiered in the space of two days. An exciting adventure, whether you’re in the audience or taking part on stage.
If you want to participate: The turboshow will feature choral singing, lip sync (miming), dance and physical theatre for all abilities. You need to be free from 10.00-21.00 on 10 February and 09.00-20.00 on 11 February. Sign up by sending your name, age and contact details to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you can only come for parts of the days, please say so in the email. First come, first served.

Friday hang-out – Everybody has a heart
A lovely evening for everyone aged between 13 and 25 who likes to hang out and chill with other music lovers. During the evening there will also be a performance of “Passage”, by the musical theatre group Unga Amanda. The members of the group are aged between 16 and 25, and “Passage” is based on their own writing.
