“Opera buffa at full steam.”— Dagens Nyheter
In the vivid The Telephone, technology constitutes an obstacle when Ben attempts to woo his Lucy. He is constantly interrupted by her telephone, but ultimately finds a way of reaching her.
The Telephone is directed by Mia Ringblom Hjertner, previously responsible for Youth Opera/Drama at the Göteborg Opera and currently Artistic Director of Unga (youth theatre) at Spira in Jönköping. Mattias Ermedahl has performed a number of major roles at the Göteborg Opera, and has also directed several productions, this time La serva padrona.
For Love, Please Hold premiered at the Göteborg Opera in 2014.
