Bitter, mean, grumpy Scrooge hates everything and everyone – especially at Christmas. He can’t abide happy, generous, loving togetherness. Ugh! One night he’s visited by the ghost of his dead friend, Marley. Three ghosts then take Scrooge on a transformative journey through his life – past, present and future. Will the night’s experiences transform Scrooge and open his heart to love?
Directed by Erik Ståhlberg, we see Dickens’ classic tale transformed into a musical filled with humour, compassion and the odd spooky ghost. In this rendition, we’re treated to a delightful mix of a festive carnival atmosphere, Stevie Wonder, Silent Night, falling snow and flashing disco lights all within the context of Victorian England. Musical, opera, pop, rap and classic Christmas carols!
