Grand finale, performed by
Hofesh Shechter Company
Hofesh Shechter, creator of one of the works in the spring dance premiere Life’s a show, and his dance company make a guest appearance during the Göteborg Opera Dance Festival with a performance of one of their greatest successes: Grand Finale.
★★★★ ‘a wild waltz for the end of time … [Grand Finale] ranks among Shechter’s most sophisticated creations’— The Guardian
★★★★ ‘The ultimate dance macabre […] Hofesh Shechter’s existential anguish and his often beautiful choreography fight to the death’— The Observer
Sacre, by Roy Assaf
Multi-award winning Israeli choreographer Roy Assaf is well-known for his gender perspective on dance. His raving Sacre – performed to Stravinsky’s explosive The Rite of Spring – is performed by either an all-female or all-male cast. It seduces, entertains and eludes, ending in an surprising sacrifice.
”The dancers are superbly precise and exquisitely provocative”— Dagens Nyheter
“Delightful slots of humour”— Göteborgs-Posten
”The dancers’ gaze, expression and interaction are perfect”— Svenska Dagbladet
