Love ❤

Creation by Roni Haver/Guy Weizman

Wildly aesthetic and alive, "Love ❤" is inspired by Peter Handke’s film with Wim Wenders, "The Beautiful Days of Aranjuez", portraying various visions of love by men and women.

Amazing lover, perfect parent, amusing friend and understanding soulmate. And sexy, too! Is that even possible? Can any one person be all of those things? Love is a portrait of love in the millennial generation, characterized by endless choices and a fear of missing out. It’s a frenzied pursuit of love as a cure for loneliness in a superficial world, where everything has a price. Roni Haver and Guy Weizman ("Director of the Year" in the Netherlands 2018) have previously danced with Ohad Naharin’s Batsheva Dance Company. Today, they run their own dance company Club Guy & Roni, from which several dancers are participating on stage, together with the dancers from GöteborgsOperans Dance company.

Creation by DAMIEN JALET

Skid, trailer
"An outstanding masterpiece by GöteborgsOperans Danskompani"— Göteborgs-Posten
"Vertiginous, death defying dance"GT
The stage floor in Damien Jalet’s "Skid" is on a 34-degree incline. The human relationship to gravity and the resistance and abandonment bound to it is what sets the dancers in motion. This new landscape of physical possibilities creates a chain reaction of physical and emotional events – dangerous, humorous, moving.

Running time - 45 min

Creation by SHARON EYAL

Autodance, trailer
"Both exquisitely intelligent and entertaining"Dagens Nyheter
"Gorgeous, disturbing and sensual"Svenska Dagbladet
"Autodance" is prize-winning Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal's second creation for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, which she says has been created from pure movement. The dancers appear non-gendered, their accentuated legs making them resemble powerful centaurs. "Autodance" seamlessly integrates dance, techno and technique; sometimes explosive, sometimes sublime. A visual, emotional, well-structured and highly aesthetic whole.

Sharon Eyal has created a stream of critically acclaimed works for prominent dance companies over the last ten years, with Gai Behar as co-creator.

Running time - 36 minutes

Dancers – 14

Solo Echo

Creation by Crystal Pite

Solo Echo, trailer
”Expansive, masterful dance”Göteborgs-Posten
Love, loss and acceptance are at the heart of Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite’s stunning dance piece "Solo Echo".

Crystal Pite is very selective about the dance companies she works with. In her first encounter with GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, she gave them "Solo Echo", created in 2012 for the Nederlands Dans Theater, where she is associate choreographer.

"Solo Echo" was inspired by two sonatas for cello and piano by Johannes Brahms, and the poem "Lines for Winter" by Mark Strand. As in Strand’s poem, "Solo Echo" invokes winter, music, and the moving body to express something essential about acceptance and loss.

Running time – 30 min

Dancers – 7
