Autodance & Solo Echo

Two extraordinary dance pieces in one evening.

Solo Echo, by Crystal Pite

Solo Echo, trailer
“Glorious, impeccable dance”Göteborgs-Posten

Love, loss and acceptance are at the heart of Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite’s stunning dance piece ”Solo Echo”. The choreography is based on a poem by Mark Strand called Lines for Winter, along with two melancholy sonatas for cello and piano by Johannes Brahms. The powerful, refined movements of the dancers capture transience and loss. Featuring gently falling snowflakes, melancholic thoughts of winter are awakened. ”Solo Echo” was created for Nederlands Dans Theater in 2012.

Autodance, by Sharon Eyal

Autodance trailer
“Dance as a complete organism – exquisite, wonderful”Göteborgs-Posten

Grandiose and minimalistic. Wilful and achingly human. ”Autodance” is hypnotic dance with an edgy attitude. The Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal has created a stream of critically acclaimed works for prominent dance companies over the last ten years. The acclaimed ”Autodance” was her second work for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. As always, Eyal masterfully integrates seamless dance, a pulsing tempo and electric techno vibes. It’s seamlessly explosive, achingly sensual.
