Chouinard's avant-garde choreography for Stravinsky’s ground-breaking music is regarded as being her masterpiece. The choreography is constructed around solos – organic, vigourous and vivid.
"There is no story in my Rite", she explains, "no development, no cause and effect. Only synchronicity. It is as if I were dealing with the very moment after the instant life first appeared. Body-Remix / Goldberg-Variations Act 1

Rebel Marie Chouinard is an icon within modern choreography. An astounding multi-faceted artist who is fascinated by the poetics of the body. As a choreographer she has won numerous awards and is in demand internationally. bODY_rEMIX /gOLDBERG_vARIATIONS is one of her best known works. In this creation, she gives the dancers pointes and crutches, harnesses and prostheses – aids which at times liberate their movements, at others fetter it, and at still others create it. A universe opens, one of meticulous and playful explorations in which solos, duos, trios and group work, in their labour, pleasure and invention, echo the human condition.
Three dancers, a choreographer and a team of technicians from the Canadian company worked on-site with their host GöteborgsOperans Danskompani for 8 weeks, fine-tuning the details of Act I for the performance. These include staging, lighting effects, props, music, costumes and most significantly, adapting the work conceived for nine to a group of twenty dancers.
