Tending to Fall.

Tending to Fall is inspired by the human tendency to transfer knowledge and retain traditions originating in the past. Our traditions are all what remains, what we leave behind.

Dance piece by Fernando Melo

The dancers form a herd, a tribe in which the individuals pass away and are born, pass on and continue. One disappears, another – a child – is introduced. The tradition lives on. Tending to Fall is the third time Fernando Melo has collaborated with opera director, stage designer and costume creator Patrick Kinmonth. In 2010, they created the dance The Guest House and, in 2011, Fountain for the State Theatre in Munich, both of which gained critical acclaim. The music in Tending to Fall is composed by Patrick Kinmonth and Fernando Melo.
