Creation by Stijn Celis
A dance performance about forces that crush and forces that heal, about our ability to recover from devastation and change. The dancers embody soft breezes, raging hurricanes and the tranquility of the subsiding wind. It’s a strong, energetic piece with minute precision and whirling confrontations.
I want to explore what happens when we are confronted with devastation and change. We can all relate to storms in our lives. To a before, during and after the storm, when the landscape has changed. And the older we get, the more aware we are about the fragility of life. The storm can strike at any time. After the storm there must be time for reconstruction and reformulating of old truths. Storm is about human resilience; our ability to rebuild and renew.
