Now the critically acclaimed double-feature Metamorfos is returning to the Göteborg Opera. There will be four chances once more to see Falter by Johan Inger and La La Land by Alexander Ekman and Medhi Walerski.
The Metamorfos double-programme had its world première on 8 May 2010 and was highly acclaimed by the critics: ”Great, yes, absolutely unforgettable, dance art,” wrote DN. ”Go and see it,” wrote GP. ”A metamorphosis to be happy with,” wrote SvD. Metamorfos has also been performed in Serbia and Winterthur on a recent, very successful tour. Four new performances are now being given, which will also be the last for this season with the Göteborg Opera Ballet.
With nine dancers, 64 ropes and music by Alva Noto, among others, Johan Inger is exploring a journey from chaos to order. His suggestive work Falter moves from volatility to constancy, via frenzy to a serene composure.
In Ekman/Walerski's playful La La Land we meet a group of people on a self-help course. They use therapeutic exercises to try to find ways of becoming "better people". With a combination of dance, spoken dialogue and wry humour the two choreographers depict mankind's endeavours towards development.
Please note that the date for the new production's premiere has been brought forward from 20 May to 13 May. Other performances will be given on 20, 21 and 25 May. The performance last approximately two hours, including intermission.
