Regional premiere for Prolog
PROLOG – a new cocky dance performance on GöteborgsOperan’s Skövde stage and on tour in the region.
On 26 September, PROLOG will have its premiere, a new cocky dance performance on GöteborgsOperan’s Skövde stage. PROLOG is a dance performance in four parts inspired by Nordic literature.
Four choreographers have taken on texts by Joakim Berg (from the rock group Kent), Pär Lagerkvist, Halldor Laxness and Gustaf Fröding and from these created modern, original dance performances. A distinctive trait of these performances is the combination of the dance with projections, spoken word and expressive lighting. Three of the choreographers are dancers in GöteborgsOperan’s Ballet: Israel Aloni, Hlín Diego Hjalmarsdóttir and Toby Kassell. The fourth choreographer is Peter Svenzon, creative director of the Gothenburg-based dance group Art Of Spectra.
PROLOG is produced by NUDANS, a seasonally-based dance company at GöteborgsOperan, comprised of 11 of the best young dancers we have in Sweden today. NUDANS has been created in order to help newly qualified dancers to make the first move towards the professional world, an initiative taken by GöteborgsOperan's ballet director Johannes Öhman.
PROLOG will only be performed three times in Skövde. Apart from the premiere, the performance will also be given 30/9 and 1/10. The performance will then go on tour to Strömstad 7/10, Uddevalla 8/10, Åmål 10/10, Falköping 14/10, Borås 15/10 and Trollhättan 18/10.
