On Monday 19 October tickets for the spring performances at The Göteborg Opera will be released.

We will have six months full of variety starting with Mats Ek’s modern version of Sleeping Beauty to Tchaikovsky’s immortal music. This spring will also bring Massenet’s sensual but seldom performed opera Thaïs, the acclaimed contemporary musical The Last Five Years on the Skövde stage, on a regional tour and on the Lilla stage. Wagner’s one and only humorous opera The Mastersingers of Nuremberg and six new performances of last season’s success La Bohème. There will also be eight more opportunities to see The Magic Flute with its premiere in November. The Göteborg Ballet will be performing in four world premieres this spring. Jeanette Langert will produce Julie3 and Tilman O’Donnell will be presenting a so far unnamed production. Both will be performed on the Lilla stage. Two of the most sought after choreographers in Sweden at the moment, Alexander Ekman and Johan Inger, will each create a work of their own with the theme Metamorfos (Metamorphosis) on the Stora stage.

The finale of the spring will be the concert A Touch of Taube, where three popular artists will meet on the Stora stage. Helen Sjöholm, Freddie Wadling and Fredrik Lycke will present a whole new concert programme with a starting point in Evert Taube’s music. The conductor and musical director is Josef Rhedin. Six concerts will be given with the premiere on 29 May. This spring’s tickets for the musical Guys and Dolls have already been released.
