On the last day of Göteborgs kulturkalas GöteborgsOpera will strike up a concert on Götaplatsen. As is called for by tradition, there will be melodious samples of the opera and musical productions to be staged during the coming season. Included in the programme will be a love duet from Mozart’s musical saga ‘The Magic Flute’ in an entirely new translation into Swedish, one of the world’s most beautiful violin solos from Massenet’s sensual opera ‘Thaïs’, a virtuoso quartet from Wagner’s humorous opera ‘The Mastersingers of Nuremberg’ and swinging big band jazz from the Broadway musical ‘Guys and Dolls.’ In the space of 90 minutes you will be given thirteen acts taken from five different productions.

On stage we have GöteborgsOperan Soloists Anders Lorentzson, Eva-Lotta Ohlsson, Annalena Persson, Erika Sax and Markus Schwartz, guest soloists Malin Byström, Richard Decker, Evelyn Jons, Timo Nieminen and Mathias Zachariassen as well as the whole of GöteborgsOperan’s Choir and Orchestra. The concert lasts for approximately one and a half hours, including the interval.
