Processing of personal data

The Göteborg Opera processes the personal data of its customers and users within the company. We maintain a database of the company’s customers and users who have registered with or purchased something from the Göteborg Opera. The database may contain personal data such as names, postal addresses, phone numbers and email addresses and if a purchase is made: delivery, payment and purchasing details, profiling based on address, and data based on use of digital services.

What are the personal data used for?
The data is used by the Göteborg Opera for marketing purposes, information and delivery of tickets and products, and also for statistical and product development purposes. The Göteborg Opera may use the data to enable it to tailor content, advertisements and offers from the Göteborg Opera and, where applicable, our business partners. 

What are you, the customer, giving your consent to?
The Göteborg Opera’s customers and registered users give their consent to marketing communications via post, telephone, e-mail, text message and other digital channels. Marketing activities via e-mail and text message are subject to the regulations of the Swedish Marketing Act (Marknadsföringslagen).

Who manages and uses the information?
Göteborg Opera is the sole administrator of the personal data collected. We do not sell this information to third parties. The Göteborg Opera will not disclose or make your personal data available to any third party without your consent, unless required for the provision of a service or product, e.g. distribution companies, printers or retailers. A transfer of personal data to authorities only takes place where this is required by law or a decision of an authority.

How do you, the customer, withdraw your consent? 
All users have the right to withdraw their consent, request rectification/erasure of any inaccurate data, or request, in writing, access to their personal data, and disallow processing and use of their personal data for marketing purposes. To exercise these rights, send your request by e-mail to:

How long are the personal data saved?
Personal data are saved while the user relationship is active and for up to three years thereafter, or in accordance with the consent given. The consent is valid until the user personally withdraws it. The consent remains valid even if the service is not being used. The consent is not dependent on any purchase of products.
