The Göteborg Opera's Children's Choir
Children beetween the ages of 8 and 12 sing under the leadership of choir leader Ida Rosén. The Children’s Choir is a freestanding choir with its own projects and concerts. There may also be opportunities for these young singers to participate in GöteborgsOperan’s productions.
"Working with the Children’s Choir is meant to be fun-filled and challenging. The repertoire is mixed and we work with drama, singing, movement and rhythm", says Ida. During the season, the choir will work on different themes. The first theme is the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in November. Our celebrations will involve wonderful music from different countries and in different languages.”

The Göteborg Opera's Descant Choir
In autumn 2012 we founded a Descant Choir, which consists of 35 boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 16. They work with concert performances, and therefore also concentrate on stage work as well as musical accomplishment.
The children are also active participants in developing their performances, both in terms of repertoire choice and stage work, so the Descant Choir works with a wide range of material.
