The 2012/2013 season for a young audience
There are a whole host of activities organised for children and teenagers as part of the Unga project. The Göteborg Opera Children’s Choir, with around 30 members aged between eight and twelve, has already performed a number of concerts. Storytelling in the Foyer gives the youngest members of the audience a chance to listen to musical tales. School performances are sometimes held during the day on the Main Stage and we also provide guided tours for children of all ages.
Unga för unga (By the Young for the Young) continues and this year we have asked the fourth graders of the region to write and draw about the subject of “Bullied?”. The eventual outcome will be a production inspired by the children’s texts and drawings.
Challenge
Twenty young people from Gothenburg's city districts. Dancers from GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. Together, in 2013, we will be looking for answers to questions such as What is a risk zone? What is a homeland? What is respect? and What is a challenge? The work is being led by choreographer Guido Markowitz and his assistant Daniela Rodrigues Romero.
Two young people from each of Gothenburg's ten city districts are to be included in this dynamic and exciting group. Meeting up with the dancers from GöteborgsOperans Danskompani is going to result in dance, movement and other means of expression.
