Torkel Blomkvist

lighting designer, has worked at theatres such as the Royal Dramatic Theatre, the Royal Swedish Opera, Stockholm City Theatre, the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, The Norwegian National Opera in Oslo, the Paris Opera and the National Ballet of China in Beijing.
At The Göteborg Opera, for example, he has designed lighting for The Flying Dutchman, Electra, Aida, Der Rosenkavalier, Turandot, Die Frau ohne Schatten, Parsifal, Goya and Alcina as well as the ballets The Nutcracker, Anima, and Romeo and Juliet.
In the 2012/2013 season, he will also set the lightning design for Tristan und Isolde. At The Göteborg Opera, in director David Radok's team, he has also been responsible for lighting Wozzeck, The Barber of Seville, Don Giovanni, Cinderella, K. Beschreibung eines Kampfes, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, The Rake's Progress and Rusalka.
His other recent lighting designs include The Rake's Progress at The Royal Danish Theatre, Bathsheba and The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the Royal Swedish Opera, The Public at Göteborg City Theatre, Der Ring des Niebelungen at the Wermland Opera and The Good Person of Szechwan at The Royal Dramatic Theatre.
