Tomas Lind graduated from the University College of Opera in Stockholm and has been working at The Göteborg Opera (previously Stora Teatern) since 1989. During his time at The Göteborg Opera Lind has sung a number of leading roles, such as The Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly, the title role in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann), Cavaradossi in Tosca, Don José in Carmen, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Alfredo in La Traviata, Gustave III in Un Ballo in Maschera , Don Alvaro in La Forza Del Destino, Calàf in Turandot, Alfred in Die Fledermaus (also broadcast on TV), as well as the title role in Der Graf von Luxemburg. His most recent roles include Macduff in Macbeth, Boris in Kát'a Kabanová (Katia Kabanova), Erik in a concertante version of Der Fliegende Holländer (The Flying Dutchman)
His latest roles are Nicias in Thaïs , the title role in Don Carlos , Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor and Foresto in a concert version of Attila . His next performance will be as Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca .
Tomas Lind has also performed at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, where he has sung the title role in Don Carlos, Alfredo in La Traviata and Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut. He has also sung Rodolfo in La Bohème and Alfredo in La Traviataat at Folkoperan in Stockholm; Calàf in Turandot at Opera Hedeland in Denmark; the title role in Un Ballo in Maschera at Staatsteater Darmstadt (the Darmstadt State Theatre) in Germany; Alfred in Die Fledermaus at Seefestspiele Mörbisch (Austrian Operetta Festival); and in the spring of 2010 Martin in Anne Pedersdotter at Festspillene i Bergen (the Bergen International Festival) in Norway.
