Tomas Lind
Tomas Lind received his training at The Stockholm University College of Opera between 1986 and1989. He has been employed at The Göteborg Opera (previously Stora Teatern) since 1989.
The roles that Tomas Lind has sung at The Göteborg Opera include a number of leading parts such as The Duke in Rigoletto, Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly, the leading role in The Tales of Hoffmann, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Don José in Carmen, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Alfredo in La Traviata, the leading role in Gustav III (A Masked Ball), Don Alvaro in La Forza del Destino as well as Alfred in Die Fledermaus (also broadcasted on TV) and the title role in The Count of Luxembourg. His most recent roles are Calaf in Turandot, Macduff in Macbeth, Boris in Katja Kabanova and Erik in a concertante version of The Flying Dutchman. In the immediate future he will be playing the part of Nicias in Massenet’s opera Thaïs which has its premiere in February 2010.
Tomas Lind has also given guest performances at The Royal Opera in Stockholm where he sang the leading role in Don Carlos, Alfredo in La Traviata and Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut. At Folkoperan in Stockholm he has sung Rodolfo in La Bohème and Alfredo in La Traviata, and he played the part of Calaf in Turandot at the Opera Hedeland in Denmark . He has given guest performances at the Opera in Darmstadt, Germany with the title role in Gustav III and at Seefestspiele Mörbisch in Austria he played the part of Alfred in Die Fledermaus. In the spring of 2010 he sang Martin in the Norwegian opera Anne Pedersdotter at the Festival in Bergen.
