Thomas Jönsson, baritone, studied singing under teachers such as Christina Gorne, Burl Rosenberg and Dale Fundling, and has performed in masterclasses with others including Ingvar Wixell and Laura Sarti. At Det Nordjydske Operkompagni in Aalborg, Denmark, he has sung The Mayor in Fredrick Rung's Den Trekantiga Hatten, and the title role in Verdi's Macbeth. He has also played the Lieutenant in Gilbert & Sullivan's The Yeomen of the Guard at the Gothenburg Concert Hall, and Masetto in Mozart's Don Giovanni at Malmö Opera. At the Göteborg Opera he has been cover for minor roles such as Schelkalov in Boris Godunov, Monterone in Rigoletto, First Soldier in Salome and Sciarrone in Tosca. He is also regularly engaged as a concert soloist. Thomas Jönsson has been employed in the Göteborg Opera Chorus since 1995 and most recently played the role of The Steward in the production of Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District.
