Thibault Vancraenenbroeck

Thibault Vancraenenbroeck was born in Brussels and works as both a set designer and costume designer for opera, dance and the theatre, together with names such as Frédéric Dussenne, Enzo Pezzella, Dominique Baguette, Barbara Manzetti, Olga de Soto, Pierre Droulers, Charlie Degotte, Sébastien Chollet, Isabelle Marcelin and Didier Payen, Nathalie Mauger, Pascale Binnert, Yves Beaunesne, Sybille Cornet, Sofie Kokaj, Marc Liebens, Françoise Berlanger, Cindy van Acker, Alexis Moati, Anna van Brée, Perrine Valli, Florence Lloret, François Girard, Andréa Novicov, Rolando Villazon, Maya Boësch, Pierrick Sorin, Christophe Honoré and Richard Brunel, and finally Stéphane Braunschweig, for whom he has been creating costumes for both theatre and opera productions since 1995. He has also created two video installations based on texts by Maurice Blanchot, and is currently collaborating with Grégoire Romefort on a photographic project. From 2001 until 2008 he taught at the Téâtre National de Strasbourg, where he was also on the admissions panel for the set and costume design section. He is also a member of the admissions panel for the costume design section at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Madame Butterfly is his first collaboration with Yoshi Oïda
