Thérèse Andersson received her training at the Ballet Academy in Gothenburg and at The University College of Theatre in Stockholm (a complementary year). Her breakthrough came in 2001 as Mimi in the musical Rent at Göta Lejon in Stockholm, for which she was nominated for a Guldmask (Golden Mask) award for Best Woman’s Leading Role. Rent continued to tour of Sweden with The Swedish National Touring Theatre, including performances at The Göteborg Opera, where she also performed as Eliza in My Fair Lady and Maggie in A Chorus Line. Other roles include Stephanie in Saturday Night Fever at Oscarsteatern and Micki in Grease at Göta Lejon.
She has appeared twice in the Swedish Song Contest with her band, Pay TV, and once, in 2008, as a soloist. She has also given concerts in collaboration with Kjerstin Dellert at Berns and Confidencen, Kajsa-Stina in the summer theatre Life of Bellman, Jennie in Footloose at Intiman, Luisa in The Fantasticks at Länsteatern in Skaraborg and Sandy in Grease at Musikteater Väst.
Thérèse Andersson has also been a reporter and the presenter of a TV programme on ZTV.
