Sven Törnell
Sven Törnell, bass trained at Operastudio -67 and the University College of Opera in Stockholm. He was appointed to The Göteborg Opera Chorus in 1997 and has also worked at the Royal Swedish Opera. As a soloist at The Göteborg Opera, he has sung roles in productions including Bohème, Wozzeck, La Traviata, The Rake's Progress, Don Carlos, Tosca and Lady Macbeth from Mzensk. On stage in musicals at The Göteborg Opera he has performed in Cats, Mary Poppins and Romeo & Juliet. In Kristianstad, he played Perón in Evita in 2005 and the principal role in Guldkungen i Svanskog. He directed the same play in Karlstad in 2006 under the name of Three Lucky Swedes. Sven's voice can be heard in traffic reports on the Swedish radio station P4 in Gothenburg and in dubbed films. During the 2012/2013 season, Sven Törnell is performing in Chess in Swedish and in the role of the Mandarin in Turandot.
