Sven Törnell, bass trained at Operastudio -67 and the University College of Opera in Stockholm. He was appointed to the Göteborg Opera Chorus in 1997 and has also worked at the Royal Swedish Opera. As a soloist at The Göteborg Opera, he has sung roles in productions including La Bohème, Wozzeck, La Traviata, The Rake's Progress, Don Carlos, Tosca and Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District. On stage in musicals at the Göteborg Opera, he has performed in Cats, Mary Poppins and Romeo & Juliet. In Kristianstad, he played Perón in Evita in 2005, and the principal role in Guldkungen i Svanskog. He directed the same play in Karlstad in 2006 under the name of Three Lucky Swedes. Sven's voice can be heard in traffic reports on the Swedish P4 radio station in Gothenburg and in dubbed films. During the 2012/2013 season, Sven Törnell performed in Chess in Swedish, and in the role of the Mandarin in Turandot. In 2013 he plays the role of Dansker in Billy Budd.
