Sten Pernmyr

Sten Pernmyr is educated at Teater- och Operahögskolan in Gothenburg and joined Stora Teatern's chorus in 1977. He later became a soloist and has sung a large number of roles such as Boni in the Czardas Princess, Iros in The Return of Odesseus, Goujon in Kappan, Jamie in My Fair Lady, The Drunk in Katerina Ismajlova, Opera Director Richard in The Opera Phantom, the large staging at Scandinavium, Borsa in Rigoletto, Bardolfo in Falstaff and Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte.

His roles at the Göteborg Opera include Head Technician 2 in Aniara, Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro, Shoemaker Thomassen in Kristina from Duvemåla, Nasaré in Salome, Gelsomino in Il Viaggio a Reims, Spalanzani in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Spoletta in Tosca, Raoul de St. Brioche in The Merry Widow, which was also shown on TV, Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte and the Foreman in Les Miserables, Nobleman in Lohengrin, Ruiz in Il Trovatore, the title role in the Doll Doctor, Priest in Jesus Christ Superstar, Head Waiter in Der Rosenkavalier and Menalaus in La Belle Helene, Mentsjikov in The Earl of Luxemburg, Emperor Altoum in Turandot Bustopher Jones in Cats as well as Admiral Boom in Mary Poppins.

This season Sten Pernmyr performs the role of Eisslinger in The Mastersingers of Nuremberg.
