Solgerd Isalv

Sweden-born lyric mezzo soprano Solgerd Isalv works mainly in Germany, where she recently has performed Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) and Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), all at Staatstheater Nürnberg. She’s also sung many world premieres, such as Stephan Peiffer’s opera Die Verwandlung (2011) and Ola Salo’s rock opera KULT with the Swedish Radio Theatre (2013).

Solgerd Isalv has a Master’s Degree from the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg. She received numerous grants during her studies and early career, including the prestigious Swedish Wagner Scholarship.
