Regina Šilinskaitė, soprano, studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, in Vlada Mikštaitė‘s class. She also participated in masterclasses held by Lilian Šukys (1992, Austria), P. Orlowitz (1993, Denmark) and Josef Loibl (Germany, 1996). In 1992 she made her debut as Gilda in Rigoletto at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre. That same year in Saint Petersburg she also won a competition for young singers “Baltic Stars”. Since 1998 she has been a soloist with the opera company of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2004 Ms. Šilinskaitė was nominated for the Golden Cross of the Stage Award for her portrayal of Valencienne in F. Lehar’s operetta Die lustige Witwe. One year later she received the same award for the role of Princess Eudoxie in F. Halevy’s La Juive, which is considered to be one of her most successful and mesmerizing performances.
The soloist has prepared chamber music programmes consisting of French and German music. She collaborated with conductors Yehudi Menuhin, Ingo Ernst Reihl, Jonas Aleksa, Liutauras Balčiūnas, Saulius Sondeckis, Martynas Staškus and Vytautas Viržonis. The soloist toured France, Finland, Switzerland, Germany and other countries.
