Pia Svorono is educated at Operahögskolan in Stockholm and in Siena and Mantua, Italy. She has worked at The Royal Opera, Drottningholmsteatern, Norrlandsoperan, Värmlandsoperan, Riksteatern and Vadstenaakademien.
She came to Stora Teatern in 1990 and her roles include Cherubin in Le Nozze di Figaro, Olga in Eugen Onegin, Madame O in Orpheus in the Underworld, Maddalena in Rigoletto and Yente in Fiddler on the Roof. At the Göteborg Opera Pia Svorono has sung Prins Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Karolka in Jenufa, Draken/Mae West/Spara & Slösa in Äppelkriget, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, The Page in Salome, The Mother in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Praskowia in The Merry Widow, Annina in La traviata, Cherubin in Le Nozze di Figaro, Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Mama Lucia in Cavalleria Rusticana, Mercedes in Carmen and the female role in Grabbhalvan, Witch in Macbeth², Mother Jeanne in Les Dialogues des Carmelites, dresser, schoolboy and servant in Lulu, the title role in Britten's Phaedra, Parthenis in La Belle Helene and the Governess in Pique Dame.
She has also been a soloist at several concerts. Pia Svorono is also a well-established romance singer through a number of radio recordnings and concert tours, e.g. to New York and Paris.
