Mathias Zachariassen

Mathias Zachariassen, tenor has played leading roles on several of the world's major stages, including the Metropolitan, the Opéra Bastille in Paris, the Berlin State Opera, Oper Frankfurt, the Vienna State Opera, Theatre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Glyndebourne Festival, the opera houses in Stuttgart, Zurich, Basel and San Francisco and also the Norwegian National Opera, the Royal Swedish Opera and Drottningholm Palace Theatre.

He played the role of David in Die Meistersänger at the Metropolitan and in Vienna, Gothenburg and Berlin. His other roles include the Helmsman in Der fliegende Holländer, Tamino in The Magic Flute, Alfredo in La Traviata, the title role in The Adventures of Hoffmann, Nemorino in L'Elisir d'Amore, Macduff in Macbeth, Florestan in Fidelio, Camille de Rossillon in The Merry Widow, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Tom Rakewell in The Rake's Progress, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Idamante in Idomeneo, Lensky in Eugene Onegin, Belmonte in Il Seraglio, the Duke in Rigoletto, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville and the role of Prologue and Quint in Britten's Turn of the Screw at the Opera House in Graz.

As a concert soloist, Mathias Zachariassen has sung with orchestras such as the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and conductors he has worked with include Herbert Blomstedt, Adam Fisher and Charles Dutoit. At the Göteborg Opera, Mathias Zachariassen has also sung the title role in Faust, and Tamino in The Magic Flute. Mathias Zachariassen trained at the University College of Opera in Stockholm.
