Martin Chocholoušek, Set Designer, was born in Prague and graduated from DAMU Academy of Performing Arts. In the past, he was responsible for the scenography of The Göteborg Opera's production of Turandot. Other productions in Sweden include Sunset Boulevard at Wermland Opera, Les Miserables and Miss Saigon at Malmö Opera, A Midsummer Night's dream in Jönköping, Jesus Christ Superstar at Göta Lejon, Alice in Wonderland at Helsingborg City Theatre, and he is currently working on the performances of Doktor Zjivago at Malmö Opera, Evita at Göta Lejon and Ronja at Stockholm City Theatre. Martin Chocholoušek has been responsible for the scenography of over one hundred productions on several Czech stages, many of which were performed at Prague National Theatre. He has had international appointments in countries such as Poland, Germany, Slovakia, France, Hungary and Romania. Since 2003 Chocholoušek has been an architect at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and was nominated for an Oscar in 2008 for the set design of the film The Karamazovs. Some of his current projects include Marius von Mayenburg's The Stone at Prague National Theatre and Franz Kafka's Amerika at The Hungarian State Theatre of Cluj in Romania. Martin Chocholoušek's work won awards for scenography from the A. Radok Foundation in 2005 in 2013.
