Maria Gyllenhoff (costume design) graduated from the Danish Design School in fashion and costume design in 1994. She has designed costumes for a large number of opera, theatre, musical and film productions. In Denmark, Maria has worked at theatres such as the Royal Danish Theatre, the Kaleidoskop and Gasværket theatres with directors including Kasper Holten, Bille August, Martin Tulinius and Runar Hodne. In Sweden, she has designed the costumes for Alexander Mørk Eidem's productions of Hedda Gabler, The Three Musketeers and The Umbrellas in Cherbourg at the Stockholm City Theatre and, at the Malmö Opera, Jonas Forsell's Träskoprinsessan (Eng: The Clog Princess). Maria has also worked with Kasper Holten in Donizetti's L’Elisir d’Amore at the Icelandic Opera, Schumann's Genoveva at the Summerscape festival in New York, and the Nordic collaborative project Bastard directed by Gisli Ørn Gardarsson. With director Alexander Mørk Eidem, she has previously designed costumes for Handel's Orlando at the Komische Oper in Berlin, and several collaborative projects await in the 2014-15 season: Watership Down at the Stockholm City Theatre, Peer Gynt at the National Theatre in Oslo, and The Magic Flute at the Norwegian National Opera. She is returning to the Stockholm City Theatre for the production of Gösta Berling's Saga.
