Marco Stella is a Swedish-Italian dramatic baritone, born in Stockholm, educated in the USA, and trained also at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg. Among the roles he has sung are the Father in Hansel and Gretel at Wermland Opera, and the Monk in I. Hallström's Hertig Magnus och sjöjungfrun (Eng: Duke Magnus and the Mermaid) in Vadstena. He has toured with The Barber of Seville in the role of Dr Bartolo, in Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and Germany. From 2002 to 2005 he was employed at Theater Lübeck in Germany and sang, for example, the title role in Gianni Schicchi, Truffaldino in Ariadne at Naxos, and Angelotti and the Sacristian in Tosca. He has also sung the role of Angelotti in Tosca at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, the Austin Lyric Opera in USA and the Opera på Skäret summer opera festival in central Sweden. At the Finnish National Opera, he has sung Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte and at Kronhuset in Gothenburg he has been a soloist in Carmina Burana with the Göteborg Wind Orchestra. At the Göteborg Opera, Marco Stella has sung Ping in Turandot, Leone i Verdi's Attila (concert performance), Angelotti in Tosca, Chief of Police in Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, Gubetta in Lucrezia Borgia, the Narrator in The Magic Flute, Melot in Tristan and Isolde, and Pietro in Simon Boccanegra, Belcore in L'elisir d'amore, First Shepherd in Daphne. In June 2013 he made his debut as Verdi's Rigoletto in at the Cleveland Opera.
