Lars Väringer is particularly well known from a number of popular TV series. After drama school in Malmö, he worked at the Royal Dramatic Theatre, and was taken on at the Göteborg City Theatre in 1988. Above all, he has been in the cast at Backa Theatre in productions such as Twelfth Night, Crime and Punishment, Eliza and, most recently, Utopia in 2012. At the City Theatre at Götaplatsen , he could be seen in productions such as West Side Story, All or Nothing and Blackbird. He has also made guest performances in two productions at Vallarna in Falkenberg and at Folkteatern in Gothenburg, including Katitzi. In a musical context, he has previously played the lead role in Zorba for a major production in Malmö. Among the many film productions he has performed in are the Swedish TV series Gynekologen i Askim, Sjätte Dagen, Molanders and Skånska Mord, and feature films such as Sunes Sommar, Det Nya Landet and Tillfällig Fru Sökes. Lars has also played a number of different roles for Swedish Radio's Radio Theatre, where he acts, writes and directs. The monologue Gunnar is one example of his own dramatisation in which he himself plays the solo role. On Sundays, we can hear his causeries in the Breakfast Club in Mannheimer & Tengby on national P4. In recent years, Lars has combined his job at the Backa Theatre with teaching at the University of Gothenburg School of Theatre.
